I am one of those searches. I am lucky to live in a relatively safe country, started living alone after breaking up with my cheating exbf, and I was ready to really stop looking for a male partner, the cheating broke me as I am a very naive and trusting person. I am off the apps but I am in two of those "are we dating the same guy" groups for my location, and the posts are crazy, guys with wives and babies creating premium accounts so that they can hide themselves locally, guys being abusive and physically violent, guys who lovebomb and then ghost, a whole spectrum of shitty behaviors being documented.

Honestly sometimes I feel bad about the abuse of privacy on some of the posted men's lives, but I also wish I was part of these groups years ago so that I could have made more informed choices.

It's also great to see how women working together to create a better dating scene has real life repercussions. One of the guys that was reported as being violent was a DJ, these reports ended up leading to a bigger discussion about the nightclub where he was a regular, and the club started getting dozens and dozens of reports of women being drugged, groped, assaulted, etc in the facilities, which created a whole discussion and the club ended posting that they were going to create an awareness team and stopped working with that DJ among other improvements.

Your post reminded me of a comment or tweet I read where men are threatened by women banding together because we always create safe, informative spaces for each other. I'm glad that these groups have been very helpful!

I'm part of a 'pussy pile' group and just being able to vet about every person I meet through them? My twenties would have been so much easier.

i am on facebook and a friend invited me to one of them, if you have an account you could try searching for are we dating the same person (location). they are usually private, the public ones are spammers and scammers for what ive seen. i also read on reddit that there's similar groups on telegram but i dont have the app.

On FB there’s local ones called Don’t Date Him ____ (insert city/state/location)
just another option

i'm in one of those groups locally too, and it's so disheartening how often physically abusive guys end up in there. a woman will post a picture of a guy saying something like, "i just started talking to him and he seems so sweet, anything i should know before we go on a date?" and his ex will comment that he was physically abusive to her. a couple of times i've even seen the commenter include his arrest report or other documentation.

i just went to the group actually to scroll through it a bit and the 3rd or 4th post today was exactly like that. a woman posted a picture of a guy and his ex commented that he's currently awaiting trial for hitting her. and he's just out there on the dating apps like nothing happened.

and it's not like a court can mandate that someone who's struck their partner get prohibited from dating, not to mention all the men who commit violence against their partners and face zero legal repercussions for it, so groups like this are really the only way women can find out this info before getting trapped in the relationship
