I support most radical feminist movement, so I'm all for this.

I will however mention that I saw a TikTok from a Black woman who urged any woman seriously considering this to make sure they're strapped since men do not like women telling them what they aren't going to do. So, if y'all will be participating, stay safe.

I would generally consider myself less gun-friendly than your average leftist/progressive, but current times are so utterly bizarre that I really cannot judge the women I'm seeing online consider buying their first gun. Couldn't be me personally, guns scare the shit out of me, but I can understand why they're so afraid.

I agree. I think we should at least carry pepper spray though

Yeah I'm increasingly tempted to get a tazer or something. I cannot be a gun girlie, it's not right on me, but after the shit I've seen and experienced... I'm almost a fool for having nothing.

I just came across some super cute tasers at Tiny Protectors. I’m seriously tempted. I have pepper spray but never carry with me, I’m afraid in a time of crisis I’d spray myself. A taser seems more manageable if that makes sense.

I have a Tiny Protectors taser and I love it - can't recommend it enough

*ETA: I realize this makes it seem like I just go around tazing people lol, I promise I do not

Check your* local/state laws no matter what you get. And you can not take stuff like this on an airplane (pepper spray & taser in checked luggage if they meet guidelines) & probably not across state lines either.

Honestly, consider getting some firearms education. I felt somewhat similarly but understanding the mechanics, how to handle them, firearm safety, AND general familiarly over time I feel a lot less afraid and empowered. If you live in the US, you might as well use that particular bit to your advantage.

It actually would not surprise me if gun control laws happened because women started arming themselves more, and that would scare men.

I remember reading (might have been on ONTD tbh) that one of the reasons the government really started trying to destroy the Black Panthers was because they realised that, oh shit, the BP has guns too because the 2nd amendment lets them. Is it true? Honestly I didn't look further, all my history profs are shaking their heads, but knowing the US govt...
