I agree with almost all of your comment, but HYBE hasn't totally lost yet from my understanding. They lost in the sense that Min Heejin won the emergency injunction, but they are still pressing criminal charges against her and the other execs and the court in their ruling, and if they end up winning those then this ruling expires and they are free to fire her.

But either way, mess!!!

Even if they win the other trials, they'll still have to pay her 14M + 75-150M in put options because nothing she did violated the contract she signed.

Also the "criminal charges" that Hybe filed against MHJ and the other execs are embezzlement, usurpation of management rights, leaking of confidential information and defamation. So far, legal experts came out and said Hybe hadn't produced any concrete evidence on the first 3 charges so I don't think they'll win in court tbh.

As for defamation, I believe they'll 100% win this as in SK law, even if what you say is the truth, you can be charged if you harm another by spreading the truth. I can see her getting a fine over her allegations regarding Illit. But is it really a win for Hybe? Literally everyone said Illit was a NewJeans copy when they debuted. On top of that, Hybe literally hired the team behind NJ's debut for Illit's debut lol.

it's been interesting, to say the least, to see what gets translated for western audiences. the media narratives have been very different depending on where you get your news from. either I missed an article covering the specific language of the contract (very likely; these update posts have not been deep dives) or it wasn't reported on until now. if it were previously disclosed, but never translated, that's an insane choice to make and feels way more relevant than who does/doesn't go to a shaman? (also, what happened to MHJ potentially leaking info about trainees? was that also just BSH and his goons making up shit ( ... )

Now that this has devolved into stan wars (and like... especially company stan wars), I am getting over this drama tbh.

Like... I just want to enjoy the music and content of the groups that I stan and ignore the groups I don't like.

"These include past allegations that BTS plagiarized one of SHINee's concepts"

Flashbacks to not even a year ago when army attacked Taemin for plagiarizing V and as a proof they showed pics by Taemin/Shinee done before BTS had even debuted.

That Taemin/V thing was just ridiculous considering their albums came out within like a month of each other. Ya'll really think someone could plagiarize an entire album in a month?!?!

I didn't see any of the stuff they used from before BTS debuted, but it sounds funny. They were trying to get on Taeyeon for filming at a restaurant for To. X

Plus, Taemin's photo concept was done when he was in LA, I think, in August, a month or so before V released his album, iirc

but the best thing about that whole stupid debacle was that every time they went after taemin, the week after Taemin was doing either challenges with Jimin or being a guest over at Suga's show.

This comment made me go watch his ep with Suga again. It was so good. Army really can't ever say anything about SHINee since that whole ep is Suga and Jimin saying "you're my role model" / "the company told us to watch you and be like you guys" / "we wanted to be just like you"

Just following this kind of lightly I found the ruling really confusing. At first it looks like a loss for Hybe but it’s actually not really a win or loss for either side really?

Yeah it's basically that she won herself more time, they essentially can't fire her yet until they actually take her to court. It sounded like from this ruling the judges agreed she was doing shady shit to leave the company, but because she hadn't personally acted on it yet, they don't have grounds to fire her yet. But reports were also saying she still hasn't given up her work laptop, so it sounds like there is still an ongoing investigation happening and there will be an eventual trial.

it’s not actually but in terms of the extraordinary shareholders meeting and MHJ being potentially booted tomorrow it’s a big win. HYBE was trying to fast track firing her and the board and now they have to sit and stew in embarrassment.
