it's been interesting, to say the least, to see what gets translated for western audiences. the media narratives have been very different depending on where you get your news from. either I missed an article covering the specific language of the contract (very likely; these update posts have not been deep dives) or it wasn't reported on until now. if it were previously disclosed, but never translated, that's an insane choice to make and feels way more relevant than who does/doesn't go to a shaman? (also, what happened to MHJ potentially leaking info about trainees? was that also just BSH and his goons making up shit?)
incredible that they had all those people on their payroll and still dropped the ball this hard. I know BTS has loyalty to BSH but they honestly don't need him anymore and haven't for a while. if they bail, he's cooked.
it's honestly hard to feel bad for anyone but the groups in all of this, these grown ass adults and executives did it to themselves. I still wish both MHJ and BSH would get fired, though, albeit for different reasons. very glad at least that NewJeans are no longer caught in the crossfire.
From what I understand, her contract prohibits her from harming Ador and its interests - but not Hybe's. So even if she did harm (or plan to harm) Hybe, they cannot fire her from her position as Ador CEO because her actions didn't impact negatively Ador.
The real issue here is that Hybe came up with the multilabel system to spread the risk of failure across different companies and promote healthy competition within the company to churn out more and more groups and drive up the total revenue. Which, on paper, is great. But this MHJ/Hybe conflict exposed that the labels are not actually independent and literally cannibalize each other with the blessings of Bang Si Hyuk and Park Ji Won.
All in all, none of this would've happened if BSH/Hybe let Ador be and didn't try to control and steal from them. Most knetz (and me included) are puzzled as to why Hybe even came up with the multi-label system if they were going to manage it like an unique label a la SM or JYPE. The only explanation that makes sense is that they pretended to be a multi-label company in an attempt to have the "conglomerate" title (since that's the legal definition of one).
when this whole thing started i said the single most baffling thing is why HYBE debuted Illit as they did to begin with... because they exposed that the multi-label system for them is more just buying out competition but also that they still view the sub-labels as competition. so....WHAT
