Isn't giving a diabetes medication to a non diabetic person dangerous???
Seems like a very irresponsible doctor.

Ozempic in higher doses is marketed as Wegovy which is a weight loss drug

No, off label use is common. For example, I have PCOS and the only thing that started my menstrual cycles and helped me lose some weight for a while was Metformin, a diabetic drug.

Chelsea said her doctor "just hands out the medication to anybody looking to drop five pounds"

Given my experience with a couple of doctors after this medication came out, this doesn't surprise me at all.

Yeah, sadly, doctors like other professionals just want to help themselves by doing any service once money or greed is involved. Ethics just goes out the door at that point.

I can't imagine taking anything without looking up what it is. I once had a neurologist prescribe me an SSRI for my migraines without telling me it was an SSRI. I was pissed.

And this is why just looking things up online isn't the best answer lol. People not taking drugs that could help them because they think googling something makes them more of an expert than somebody that studied the subject

This would be unbelievable however, my primary care doctor told me it’s okay to take 1000mg of naproxen everyday for pain management.

And then gave me a 90 day supply

I can see her not knowing and definitely not reading that pamphlet

TF? I take that much during shark week, but make sure not to touch the stuff at ANY other time because I don't want my kidneys turning to stone.

It’s a 500mg pill taken twice a day.
I’ve noticed this trend with all of my prescription meds.
It really is disgusting. I’m wondering if docs have quotas to make with prescriptions?

Sometimes they get bonuses from the drug companies if they prescribe a certain amount per month. If I recall, that's what happened with Oxycontin.
