I can't imagine taking anything without looking up what it is. I once had a neurologist prescribe me an SSRI for my migraines without telling me it was an SSRI. I was pissed.

And this is why just looking things up online isn't the best answer lol. People not taking drugs that could help them because they think googling something makes them more of an expert than somebody that studied the subject

I don't have a problem with that. My issue is that I had included that I have an anxiety disorder and he gave me an SSRI without discussing it with me. I've had really bad side effects from SSRI so that's definitely something I'd like to know first. When I had talked to the pharamcist about it she said she had never heard of anyone using what he prescribed for migraines before.

I think it was extra annoying because I was seeing this doc for unexplained constant dizziness and he thought maybe it was actually an aura from migraines...even though I've never experienced auras from migraines before. I guess it doesn't matter because the dizziness magically went away on its own 🤷‍♀️

I'm on Topamax, an anti-seizure/bi-polar medication for my migraines. It's a wonderdrug for me, but going off of it is going to be a bitch if I ever decide to.
When I see ads for it being described as a weight loss drug, my 200+ pound ass is like "Where?"

I honestly don’t know. I’ve plateaued at 225 for the last four years. Yesterday my doctor suggested Ozempic and I might do it just as a short term boost in addition to working out and eating healthy. I can’t take this anymore.

Thank you!
I spent a bunch of time last night looking on Reddit forums and checking out interactions between the meds I'm on already, the antidepressant which has caused the sustained weight gain, and so far there's nothing.
I'm mainly concerned about my friends' reactions/opinions so I'm only telling two of them because I've been incredibly judgemental in the past. I wouldn't be interested in doing this if I was 5'4" 120lbs. I used to be 5'6 and 120lbs in college but that was 20 yrs and 100lbs ago.
I'm clear on the fact that I was still dealing with depression and anxiety 100lbs ago. It's not going to solve anything related to that :)
