My working week doesn't run from Mon - Fri due to shift work, so weekends are a luxury. However, they are few and far between, so any day off becomes the 'weekend'. Carrying on from the last entry, we left the Telegraph Station and walked a few metres to the place that gave it's name to the town. It is really a waterhole which, in 1871, was named 'Alice Springs' after Mrs Alice Todd, the wife of Charles Todd, the Superintendent of Telegraphs. This is the last installment of our trip to Melbourne back in April. The day started with a  visit to the Melbourne Aquarium. I have to admit that I was very pleasantly surprised with the displays and mostly with the wonderful tunnel where you can walk around with the marine life swimming beside you and above you. I'm still playing 'catch-up' with pics of our trip to Sydney in April. After a busy day at Taronga Zoo, we walked along the street where we were staying to meet up with friends. It seems that if you visit Australia, there is one place you have to visit; Sydney. Sure, it's another city, has too many people, is busy and noisy. Tourists abound, all jostling for space with the regular Sydney-siders going about their daily life. But for many tourists, this IS Australia.
