I'm still playing 'catch-up' with pics of our trip to Sydney in April. After a busy day at Taronga Zoo, we walked along the street where we were staying to meet up with friends. En route we passed this lovely old building, The Queen Victoria Building, referred to as QVB. It was built in 1898 and the whole construction project was to give employment

As to the building ... I am always so happy (and relieved) when an historic building is restored and repurposed!

Thanks...we do look a fine bunch, don't we? It was a fun time.

It would have been a terrible loss had the QVB been demolished, and no doubt just another glass and concrete office or another shopping mall/carpark. I think it's money well spent to restore and save these buildings.
