I'm still playing 'catch-up' with pics of our trip to Sydney in April. After a busy day at Taronga Zoo, we walked along the street where we were staying to meet up with friends. En route we passed this lovely old building, The Queen Victoria Building, referred to as QVB. It was built in 1898 and the whole construction project was to give employment to skilled craftsmen who were out of work at that time, due to a recession. Can you imagine something like that happening today? By 1959, after having been used as a market place, government building, concert hall and library, it deteriorated so much that demolition was considered. Thank goodness they didn't destroy such a lovely piece of architecture, and over $100 million has been spent on restoration and refurbishment since then.

The QVB is a great favourite with Andrew because at the southern end is a hobby shop that sells a very good range of commercial airline models. He's like a kid at Christmas!

The Sydney Tower
The Sydney Tower is also known as the AMP Tower or commonly Centrepoint. It is 305m high and has revolving restaurants, a viewing platform and a moving glass-floored platform which extends out over the edge of the main tower structure. Not for the feint hearted! We were more than happy to look up at Centrepoint.
So, time to catch up with friends and to have a drink or six! It was great to have time with John
jottobear and his partner Jon
jccub1. (Alas, no pics of Jon). John works shifts, so it was truly amazing for him to have the time free. The added bonus to our little group was that Dom
cuboz who also works shifts, was there as well. As always, it was great to have time with these delightfully sexy guys.
