It had been nearly dusk, you and Atem walking side by side on the way to somewhere. As you both continued walking there were strange flashes of light in front of your eyes, but he didn't seem to be reacting strangely so you didn't say anything. Next you were feeling heat, flustered, unnerved by something. It was then that Atem finally turned to you ( Read more... )

What a long day. Who knew how much work royalty had to do? Well, aside from a certain someone Yugi missed dearly.

The young ruler entered his bedroom, ready to collapse onto his bed before... Holy Ra. There wasn't much he could say without being too excited. Where had Atem been all this time? "I... Thank you."

Was he okay? Did he... still remember him? He had to know. "You can just... leave him here. Thank you again." The messenger bowed in reply before leaving the two be. He wouldn't want to keep His Majesty from his sexy times, of course, not that it would have been the first thing on Yugi's mind. Maybe the second.

"Atem..." He tightly wrapped his arms around the other, incredibly manly tears streaming down his face. "Where...? Are you...?" He gave a light nuzzle, looking up at him. "Nothing happened to you... right?" Well, nothing bad, hopefully.

There was a key left on the bedside table before that messenger left. Had Atem been free to do as he pleased he probably would have decked that boy and fled earlier. Tying him up had obviously been the best option present, so sayeth the people who had captured him. Had he had use of his arms he would have hugged Yugi back.

Instead all he could do was lean his head against the other. "Crossing into forbidden and unknown territory might have been a bad idea." He confessed. Despite his slightly weaker demeanor (he seemed like he might have lost weight). "But as I had suspected. It led me to you." A light smile.

Yugi couldn't help but smile in return. Atem remembered him. And he was looking for him. But where was he? He needed to know where his partner had been for so long.

Carefully, he helped Atem onto the bed. Why so scrawny, Atem? Take a seat, rest a little, tell your aibou what happened. "But where..." No wait, he could always wait. Don't think he didn't notice how weak you are, Atem, because he did and he's concerned all over the place. "Ahh... Should I get you something to eat? Or drink? Or...?" He reached over for the key as he spoke, his other hand firmly around Atem's. Can't forget about those chains, who knows how long Atem had been tied up. He was probably so uncomfortable. Mou hitori no boku, you poor bb. Click~

Yugi removed the chains, once again being careful not to hurt him at all. "...Better?"

Just sitting was more comfortable than he remembered. Once those chains were off his wrists he rubbed at them, the skin slightly raw. His attention never really left Yugi, though. It had been far too long since he'd last seen the other. And because of how he'd been dropped into a body he'd only owned in the past, he couldn't help but think this had been his fault somehow.

"I'm fine." He half-lied with a shake of his head. "I wasn't thrown into the slave industry. Just a sex object." That's why he was left all his jewelery, painted up pretty, and maintained slightly well. His own refusal of their food and water might have had a lot to say about his condition but that didn't need to be said.

"Better seeing that you're alright." Now that was the truth.

Two weeks and still no sign of Atem. And this place, wherever it was, was starting to get on her nerves a little. From the moment she had arrived, she had been treated like glass, everyone stepping on eggshells around her. Even when she had inquired as to why they were acting so, they had only responded with 'It's not proper for one as myself to speak to you, your highness.' Though the 'advisors' (that's what she figured they were anyway) took almost every word she said to heart and claimed it as prophecy and great wisdom ( ... )

HDU or something note_atem May 12 2011, 02:36:58 UTC
He wasn't exactly sure what was going on. He'd been warned gallivanting off into the desert had been a bad idea, not that he'd needed to be. He hadn't forgotten what this life was like. He wasn't stupid. But a few days ago his horse had run off, and then his water had run out.

Nothing had been in sight and before he knew it he'd been hallucinating. Then he'd fallen over and he was at the mercy of Ra.

Her voice didn't even really register to him, sounding like some warped echo of death or something similar. "Nn- where is..." His words were capped and quiet, his throat raw and mouth dry.

She was so relieved at hearing him. He was alive... barely, but he was alive!

Gingerly, she pulled him into a sitting position, holding him up and pulling out her own waterskin, uncapping it in the process.

"It's all right, you're going to be all right..." she put the water to his lip, careful not give him too much at once. Didn't want him choke on something that was supposed to save him.

He nearly wasn't aware of being moved, the world just feeling like it was shifting and breathing around him instead of the other way around. For a moment there was slight resistance in him, thinking this to be a last mirage. Who knew what he was really doing?

But the moment that water touched his lips he raised a weak arm out to take it. He needed it. Badly. He wanted to consume it all right now as if it would save his life. He became greedy for it.

Sometimes, he wondered if it'd be better if he was left to die in the desert. It wasn't like Yuugi to abandon all hope, but this was.. awful. The shackles were too heavy and the chains were clumsy for him to maneuver properly, but for some reason, they were nothing to the thieves. He learned long ago that talking, even pleading for help didn't mean anything... the men who found him didn't speak Japanese, and if they knew English they pretended like they didn't ( ... )

Atem had been searching for Yuugi all this time, without rest, without giving up. His partner had been somewhere in these lands. It would have been impossible for him not to. And it didn't matter what borders the Pharaoh had to break into to find him, he had. All tips had led him to this hide out and he'd charged into it without a second thought.

The sight of the younger so emaciated and worn out grabbed at his guilt complex like nothing else. However it also gave him an added boost of needed anger as he had really decided to take on an entire hoard of thieves without much planning.

"You will surrender or die for your crimes." He said calmly, sticking his sword into the back of another man without a blink. Half of them seemed to give up just then. The rest spat and cursed Atem's name. He spared one look back to the other.

"Stay back." He warned, puzzle around his neck glowing brightly all of a sudden.

Yuugi's eyes widened as the puzzle glowed, and for a moment he wanted to push forward, to stop his other from killing all these people. It was wrong... wasn't it? Through the haze of the past several eternities and forced numbness, he still didn't want them to die. Even if they deserved it. Even if, after all this time, they wouldn't let him go find Atem..

...of course, Atem ended up finding him. But wasn't that how it always turned out? He opened his mouth to say something, but found his throat was too dry to even muster up enough of a voice to yell out something. Plus.. when was the last time he even heard himself speak?

Instead, he nodded, setting down the clay pot and grabbing hold of what he could carry of his own chains, trying to move out of harm's way. Back by the oasis.. there were rocks there, right? Maybe he could hide behind them for now.

Once Yuugi was safely out of harm's way- though it had been more getting him out of the sight of what he was about to do, he raised his hand. No, he didn't necessarily have to kill these men, and he wouldn't either. Using his power en mass as he would in his court would be a bad idea, but he just couldn't handle fighting them all right now. And for their crimes-

"Judgement." Something he would usually sit by his whole Court and preform but he just didn't have the time or patience right now. The puzzle glowed, seeking out their hearts and minds, and without any mind to the contrary Atem could already feel how disgusting and dark they were inside.

Without another thought towards it he sentenced them to death. Taking Yuugi had not been their only crime, surely it would have been enough though. Once the air was finally quiet, he staggered back a few steps. Now where had his partner gone?

"Aibou?" His sword was sheathed at his side, slid in-between the golden waist band he'd been wearing. His voice was definitely weaker than it had ( ... )

Number two it is.... darkheartflame May 12 2011, 05:45:45 UTC
Bri moved from the doorway and pushed instantly down towards his 'gift'. Eyeing up the messenger before looking at Atem, Bri cleared his throat and spoke with his mother tongue; something he knew Atem would understand but the other would not.

"Sweet mother of all that is holy and true," the vampire whispered a little before practically screaming the little messenger out in his desperation to have his Pharaoh alone.

The moment they were alone....

"Atem....where 'ave ye been?"

A key for the chains Atem had been put in was hastily left in whatever place the boy could reach before he left rather quickly. He was not equipped to deal with a finicky, angry royal. His job was done and so he'd was going home.

But at least the Pharaoh found some sort of humor in it all. He managed a light smirk. "Looking for you, obviously." And it had gotten him caught.

In all his years walking the earth, he'd never once been as truly happy as he was there and then. Within a heartbeat he had the chains off the younger man and knelt back with a kiss to his forehead.

"They didnae harm you?" he asked, hands unable to keep from roaming over the should-be king just to make sure he was alive and that this wasn't yet another heat-induced dream.

It was him. It was really him.

His eyes closed, basking in the closeness of the other after having been apart so suddenly for so long. He hadn't realized how heavy his limbs still felt even after being freed from those chains but it was probably partly his fault for refusing most of the food and water they gave to him.

"I wasn't made for harming." He said in a slightly lower tone, an arm wrapping around the other. "My purpose was made out to be for pleasure. Ruining your inventory with marks isn't a smart idea." Despite the bleakness of the idea he tried to keep that smirk about him.

Atem really shouldn't have recognized him. Kaiba had never kept weight on in the best of times, and now was barely more than skin, bone, and sinew built from heavy work. Visible cheekbones and a stark jawline were hidden under shaggy, unkempt hair (reminiscent of Mokuba's in thickness) and three months growth of facial hair. His chest was bare and covered with barely healing welts from whips and clubs. It almost matched the net of scars on his back, also marked with a few fresher wounds. Everything that wasn't covered with dried blood was marked with dirt, just as the bandits were ( ... )

He had come here with the exact same plan of revenge in mind. Seeing Kaiba's condition only furthered his anger and need for blood. But Kaiba had been the one forced into this position, taken down and abused by these people. In pride alone Atem could understand his need to sate the feeling for revenge.

A shorter sword was pulled from behind his cape and tossed to Kaiba as he contended with another man afterwards.

"How many are you planning on killing?" He called as he smacked through another two trying to take him head on. His puzzle could easily clear up all of this but it was Kaiba's decision alone. The man deserved payback.

Kaiba had never held a sword in his life, as least as far as he was aware of. But as the ropes around his ankles were cut and he felt the weight of it in his hand, all he could think of was running them through.

"All of them," he swore, his voice as dark as it had been during Death-T, or the worst of Gozaburo's antics. He wanted all of their blood on his hands. He didn't care..and he certainly didn't wait for Atem's permission. The sword was already flashing in his hands, Kaiba stepping in to engage with any bandit within reach, no matter what the risk of injury.

WELL YOU COULD HAVE PICKED I MEAN note_atem May 12 2011, 06:06:43 UTC
He was toeing a fine line here, he knew. Kaiba could have easily fallen back into a very dark and insane place that Atem just did not want or need him to be in. He was hoping the other could take care of himself, could fight this out and return to a better place after. Would revenge do that?

But he couldn't just stand out of the way and let himself get attacked. He tried to keep the ones on the side where they are, just routing through them with well practiced precision and an uncaring hand as he took their lives. If nothing else, Kaiba would at least want the head of the boss. And Atem would abide by it.
