It had been nearly dusk, you and Atem walking side by side on the way to somewhere. As you both continued walking there were strange flashes of light in front of your eyes, but he didn't seem to be reacting strangely so you didn't say anything. Next you were feeling heat, flustered, unnerved by something. It was then that Atem finally turned to you

A shorter sword was pulled from behind his cape and tossed to Kaiba as he contended with another man afterwards.
"How many are you planning on killing?" He called as he smacked through another two trying to take him head on. His puzzle could easily clear up all of this but it was Kaiba's decision alone. The man deserved payback.

"All of them," he swore, his voice as dark as it had been during Death-T, or the worst of Gozaburo's antics. He wanted all of their blood on his hands. He didn't care..and he certainly didn't wait for Atem's permission. The sword was already flashing in his hands, Kaiba stepping in to engage with any bandit within reach, no matter what the risk of injury.

But he couldn't just stand out of the way and let himself get attacked. He tried to keep the ones on the side where they are, just routing through them with well practiced precision and an uncaring hand as he took their lives. If nothing else, Kaiba would at least want the head of the boss. And Atem would abide by it.

After a few kills, Kaiba was smirking. After a few more, he was full on laughing. He always won, no matter what the tactics of his enemies. Always. Their failure was not killing him in the first place, and they would learn one by one. There would always be another waiting in line for their defeat. When there wasn't, he turned to set his sights on the fools on the side, especially the one with the wild hair. There were only enemies in this world. The idiot who armed him would be next ( ... )

It seemed like the thick of men on his side had died out (at his hands) soon enough and he was left turning to Seto. The brunet was on his knees, Atem couldn't see for what reason. He'd said something as well, but the Pharaoh failed to hear it. He moved in quicker when he noticed someone going in for a kill.
His sword was brought up to block the blow before he very succinctly punched the man in the stomach. Quickly after he was dazed Atem brought his sword through the man's chest in one quick, clean motion. It was removed just as easily, his skin, his clothes and his sword all stained with blood at this point. The sounds in the cave were all gone now. Either all the men had been killed or the rest had fled.
"Seto..." He murmured, turning to the

At the sound of his name, his head turned. Feverishly bright blue eyes, sunken into a face that seemed to have no fat on it at all anymore, fixed on the other. "Seto," he murmured. He repeated it again as he slipped the locket cord over his neck, though he still didn't let go of it. "You only call me that in the good dreams. This has been the best one yet. I must be running out of time."

"Let me take you back to the palace now." He couldn't fix the odd problem of being here in this strange warped version of his homeland yet. Maybe he hadn't been really looking for a solution. Kaiba had come first. And he would come first now. He needed to be taken care of.

"Now don't start getting my hopes up," he mocked. He knew what was coming next. All of this would fade sooner or later, and he would have nothing left but wisps of memory. His hand clenched around the locket, while his other hand traced some of the blood from his newest injuries.
"You and I both know that I'm not going there. So save it and just let me enjoy these last few minutes, okay?"

"The only reason you can't leave is your own ability. Don't tell me that even after they've died by your hand these men still have the ability to keep you here." His tone was quiet, though not quite cold and not spoken with a sneer but a deep-set frown.
"Let's go, Seto." He said once more, offering a hand to help the other up.

"The costume suits you," he rasped, "but it won't make me jump to your orders any more than usual." His hand curved into a fist as Kaiba started the long and laborious process of getting up himself. Atem's offered hand went ignored, even as Kaiba stumbled forward from the effort.

He did move forward, hand suddenly outward as the other lurched forward, ready to help him if need be. His eyes left Kaiba now as he turned towards the mouth of the cave. "My horse is waiting outside."

"I've never ridden before," he admitted quietly as he continued to stumble forward.

"Use this to cover up." Kaiba seemed beaten up and worn down enough already. They didn't need to add heat stroke on top of that.

He kept moving forward until he could look at the animal. Hallucination or not, the CEO wasn't in the habit of trusting his wellbeing to a dumb animal. Kaiba glanced down at his hands with a frown. Could he even hold on?
"...I was going to walk anyway," he rasped, shaking his head. Walk when he freed himself. Waiting for a rescue was silly, or so he thought. "..I can do that."

"Walking would be very stupid. The destination is too far away for us to make it in good time if you do that and you'll pass out from heat stroke long before we even see the palace in the distance." His tone was serious, not giving much room for argument.
