Brrr, Part 2
Still very cold, but not quite as bad. I'm lucky- I only went out twice, not on the worst days, and there was little to no wind. Also only had to be outside briefly. I am very fortunate.

I suppose I can't complain too much. For the most part, we've been lucky this winter. Super mild, little snow.

Well, the end of this year/start of next year is a bit of a bummer.
Had looked forward to spending time with my parents watching the Rose Bowl Parade followed by holiday specials, like we often do. Alas, they've caught some sort of crud :( Also, have a feeling something is going on with a dear friend. Something has changed.

I don't think I've ever looked towards a new year with so much trepidation.

Holy moly. I keep telling myself I won't wait so long between posts. Yeah...
Anywho, I wound up selling two pieces at the art show- not too shabby! On the first day, too.

End of summer
Next Saturday will be the first day of fall. Hard to believe. Seems like school just started and already there's talk of Homecomings. Weather's cooled off noticeably, only made it to the high 60s a couple of days. But it looks like it will stay in the 70s for the foreseeable future. Might even get to 80s again mid-week.

Where did the summer go??
Late August. Doesn't seem possible.
All in all, we've had a fairly mild summer, especially when compared to the rest of the country. Well, excepting perhaps Thursday night's storms. Where I live was OK- I lost power for two, maybe three minutes. There was a small branch caught in my bush partially blocking my exit. That's it for me. But I've seen ( Read more... ) -
Books 12 and 13
12. A Child's Garden of Verses, by Robert Louis Stevenson. I read this collection of poetry for my online readings. This is definitely one of my favorites, these poems were so charming and whimsical, for the most part. Mom told me she read me a lot of these when I was really young. A great week off!
Had fantastic week off. The weather was lovely. I went swimming nearly every day, finished a couple books, started a couple others, met friends over breakfast and lunch, went to a new restaurant and, best of all, got to meet my Vietnamese brother.
