Pretty good couple weeks
I think we are safe from winter's admittedly loose grip now. Loving the nice weather. Pollen was SUPER bad last week, but this week was better. Part of it is running my air filter. Oh that helps soooo much.
Also wanted to update my book list- more O. Henry stories. Also have three books in progress, two of which I'm almost done with.

Enjoying the warmer weather!
I really can't complain since all in all our winter and spring has been really mild. Despite some freeze warnings and a few nasty storms, spring has been quite pretty. A couple days ago, it was 50s with frost alerts. Today it got to around 80, with more of the same expected tomorrow and Monday.

Busy week!
All in all, this week kept me hopping.
A couple of additional notes on the eclipse I forgot to mention. One, as I said, it looked like twilight when the eclipse was at totality. But one remarkable thing was that the entire way around the horizon was the deep, burnt orange, not just in one spot, where the sun would set. Surreal! Also, even my most ( Read more... ) -
Wow wow wow!
Still wrapping my head around things, but yesterday's solar eclipse was AMAZING!
It couldn't have gone better. One, while it was rainy in the morning, the clouds were pretty much gone by 10 a.m., much earlier than initially predicted. There were a few clouds, mostly of the wispiest of cirrus clouds that didn't interfere with the viewing.

Eight days and counting
Hard to believe.
Eight days until the solar eclipse, and eight days until my birthday. Wow.
You think there's all the time in the world, then BAM. The day is in sight.
I got an early birthday present last week. On April 8, I'll be doing afternoon breaking news shift. Which means I can sleep in, and I don't have to leave the house and venture out on ( Read more... ) -
We did it!
Finally. The day came, a day I was beginning to wonder would ever arrive. We have a contract. So happy and relieved.
Spent some time with mom, Aunt Becky and other Girl Scout friends Saturday. That's always a lovely time. We made cards to give out to those who need a pat on the back or some cheer. That was the first time in at least a decade that ( Read more... ) -

Just realized I miscounted my books. I'm actually up to 35 books, mostly the O. Henry stories, not 33. Whoops!
So next book is #36.

Some good news!
A day came I never thought I'd see. Got some amazing news at work Wednesday. Can't get into it now but let's just say I'm so happy and relieved.
Wednesday also was bittersweet. A longtime co-worker, someone I'd worked with for 24+ years, retired, officially on Thursday but we had a little party for him Wednesday. Happy for him, but I'll miss him.

Early Spring?
Well, it's Groundhog Day, and everyone's favorite whistle pig in Pennsylvania has forecast an early spring- despite it being overcast.
Of course, the weather will do what the weather will do. But it's supposed to be 40s and even 50s for the next week so who knows? Perhaps the woodchuck out east hit a bullseye. One can hope.

And now, for a January heat wave
Northeast Ohio. Gotta love it. This time last week, we were in a deep freeze. Today, right now, it's 42 degrees according to my laptop. The three days previous is exceeded 50 degrees.
