I went to see Wolves In The Walls last night at the Lyric. It was more a children's show rather than an all ages one (predominantly adult audience notwithstanding) but I found it very enjoyable. If you only see one pantomime this season make sure it is Ubu The King.

This is French schoolboy Alfred Jarry's profane story of the megalomanic, cophrophiliac Dad Ubu. Not the most immediately tantalising prospect but it is simply hilarious. The action is transposed to a Scots nursing home and David Greig deserves much of the credit for his new ( Read more... )

Went to see Equisite Pain at Riverside Studios tonight. It was a fucking debacle.

First Julius Caesar at the Barbican. I thought I knew the play quite well but apparently I'd completely forgotten it. Like the whole fact it's not really about Caesar (though John Shrapnel was very good in this role.)
