Don't you dare say that Red. You are not alone. You know that you have a loving mate and friends and family that would help you without a moment's hesitation. That will always be there for you. Just take a step back and look at everything ( ... )

I'm sorry to hear about the failing, but I like that you have some sort of plan. And please, I know it's hard, but give your mom a break. She didn't trick you. I'm sure she's trying hard to be supportive but it's hard to watch your kids sometimes. You know our moms have got some amazing plans and hopes for us in their heads, so when they see us experience a set-back it's hard to watch.

And I'm sure you've heard this from everyone you've told about the getting married idea to, but: please, you're so young still. Give it time. You're in a committed relationship already and that's amazing enough for any 18-year-old.

Running away isn't cool, but making a plan and following through? Gaining independence that way? That's pretty rad.

And you're only alone if you want to make yourself alone. That is a choice you make. You've got support and friends and people who love you and there are always more people out there just waiting to be met and to become your friend. And you can always move to Utah if Texas gets old.
