Do you ever make recipes that surprise you in, well, ways that surprise you? So I put together this cauliflower, bean and feta salad last night (no grocery in my neighborhood had endives, but I went a little heavier on the parsley, taboule-style, and it worked out fine), and - not only was it very tasty, but I think I'm still full this morning. I am all about articulating why I'm angry about things today, whether it's toxic media culture versus Sharon Carter (coda) or just being fed up with the monoculture, which has infected everything from the food world to the insides of Agent Carter.

Thing I'm very pleased with: My therapist now has me setting weekly realistic goals for myself, rather than simply letting me fall apart all over her couch for an hour. Oh my god, what are the links I can share so I can pare down my One Tab? It's at 948 links now, most of them probably Tumblr posts I meant to either reblog eventually or engage with the media therein. That's not actually the right way to spend a nice-looking day like this one, but I'm going to do some baby steps. These have no rhyme or reason!

Just yelling on Twitter about how much I love Charlie Young and his perfect everything.
Lots of walking today! Met up with my brother, SIL and their youngest kid for brunch, wound up walking from 14th Street to 46th, which, yes, meant navigating Times Square, oof. Victory arms at last!
I've had such a bad run of luck with cooking that I have to crow about finding a great recipe. This is vegan, for any concerned! Filling and delicious too, especially with adding stuff in on top: sweet potato and quinoa chili. Definitely recommend the chipotle powder, and I imagine it would be fantastic with sliced avocado on top ( Read more... )
