Just you wait, just you wait

Thing I'm very pleased with: My therapist now has me setting weekly realistic goals for myself, rather than simply letting me fall apart all over her couch for an hour. I think it's a great sign, frankly. This week's goals include not letting the THREAD thing slip through my fingers by letting imposter syndrome keep me from sending in the final materials they need (a larger project to be workshopped -- mine is turning my j-school capstone into a comic); sending one damn pitch to a publication I already have in mind for a story about (trolololo) the psychiatrist shortage and database upfuckery that has been my attempt to get competent medical attention; draw some comics, do some watercolor; write some spite-porn; train for the damn Brooklyn Half, which is a wee bit more than a week away, SHIT.

On the pitching, I've been feeling overwhelmed and disorganized about it -- I can't seem to focus on ideas, and while I've been meaning to comb through my rolodex of editors and think of things to send them, it just hasn't been happening. Luckily, someone in a FB group I'm in posted advice about this very thing, and so now I've spent this morning working on a setup with Trello, a free project management software that has an app and is browser-based too. Quite happy with it so far!

Other plans: This for dinner, as far as I'm concerned, butternut squash is tasty all year round, which means I get to go grocery-shopping as a break. I also... bought another Lynda Barry book last night, as well as a mini posable manikin, which frankly I've always wanted and this one was cheap.

Last night I also hit up the
marvelismarvel stories, and have two quick, extremely fun recs for you:
  • Watch and Learn, a Squirrel Girl adventure, really delightful (and which worked well even if I know next to nothing about the character, except that she's delightful)
  • Wonders of the World, set soon after the end of S2 of Agent Carter, in which Howard Stark has a new venture at the La Brea Tar Pits, and Peggy and Jarvis reluctantly come out to inspect it. Wonderful screwball comedy from
    sholio!
