I'd have to say FFIX was my favourite. It was really easy to do, and I almost NEVER had to go back and level up to fight a boss/hard enemy. I didn't like the grid in FFX; the first time I played I had to erase my file and start over because my level was ten levels down from where I needed to be to beat the current boss. It seemed overly complicated and pointless to me : (

Oh man I hated leveling up in IX...I felt like I could run around on the map for hours just gaining levels and still not be strong enough. And while I did kind of like how you learned magic...I like being able to cross-train my characters (i.e. teach white magic to more than the healer, etc...), and IX didn't really allow for that...which I think is why I never really got as much into that game, because I loved the story :-(

The only thing that really pissed me off was the Trance system. Because I would be maybe two rooms away from the boss, and at the end of the battle with one friggin black mage I would go into trance, right after Zidane got hit and Vivi gave the finishing blow. And you couldn't save your trance for bosses, either, or keep what you had left over after battles. UGH

Haha yeah that really bugged me as well. I think X was my favorite limit break system, because for one, if you didn't use your limit break you didn't lose it, you still had the option of all of your other commands, and you could choose how you went into overdrive...quite handy, I thought :)

I really liked the sphere grid in X as well. At first I truly hated it. I didn't understand it, it wasn't normal, and I just wanted a "normal" level-up system...but then suddenly it just clicked, and now I love it. I feel like I have complete control over my characters, and that there is (almost) no limit to what I can do with them. I have an open game now where I just run around gaining spheres because I want to teach every character every ability. Not to even use it...just because I have the option, so why not take it ( ... )

I felt the same way about the grid as well. Another problem I had was that I brainstormed way too much about the movements of the actually characters, lol. I mean I treated the game as if it was a life or death match in chess. Nevertheless, it was very satisfying experience. I think FF 12 has something like the sphere grid. I believe it's called "license to skill." :D ( ... )

Haha I did that for the longest time as well! I hate skipping nodes, even when they are unimportant and I know I will be eventually have so many spheres I can go back to them...and whenever I reach a "cross-road" or whatever--or when a character is done with his/her own section of the grid, I deliberate for SO LONG on what to start teaching them next :)

Dark Knight pwns. :p I also really liked alchemist because who can so no to healing without using MP or items? I actually never really used the "special" dressspheres...but X-2 had possibly the easiest non-cheat ever...with the Cat Nip item, for whomever it was equipped to every action dealt 9999 when in critical status...so if you equipped it to a gunner with level 3 trigger happy it was like using Omnislash or Lionheart! Even though I felt like I was cheating by using it, it was really helpful if you were item hunting in an area with tougher fiends because it made the battles end so fast!

Lol, yeah skipping nodes wasn't an option for me. And besides, the grid looked nice and lit up when most of them were activated, lol. I was intimidated when I first saw how huge the grid was, lol. Lucky the monster drop lots of keys and points to move around pretty fast. :)

Alchemist was pretty awesome. I had a hard time leveling up my white mage one. I hated working on it, lol. But it was one of your most important ones, though. I've heard of the Cat Nip item, but the combo you used sounds so cool. I know you whopped Shuyin, lol.

FFVII is definately my favourite - I love the materia system - I always enjoyed planning which spells to give to which character before boss fights, and then planning strategies from there. I also love leveling them up, and gaining new spells, and collecting all the different ones. On the down side though, it is quite easy to make your characters much too powerful by the third disc - once you get Knights of Round and Mimic 4xCut etc battles are just too easy - last time I played I beat Safer Sephiroth in about a minute - purely using Cloud with 4xCut and Yuffies' Conformer weapon - I was quite disappointed! I even beat the WEAPONs quite easily that time. There are a lot of challanges out there to do though - like only magic or no materia ( ... )

The materia system is very clever indeed. I to love how the game allowed you to prepare before certain bosses like Rufus and what not. Leveling up my characters is my favorite part in Final Fantasy games. I trained in the Mideel region, against these grasshoppers looking monsters. That's the only flaw with Final Fantasy. I have a very nasty habit of over training thus making the the ending part of the game a tad bit easy. In fact, I think when you fight the Turks for the final time, they gave me good match. I found them more entertaining then Sephirtoh.

Yeah, junctioning required the most time, and patience to get just right. ;)

So you didn't like the sphere grid, bummer. It's ok though, we all have our things. My only issue for FFX is that you can over train like mad! I beat the WEAPONS in that game with one overdrive from Tidus. :S Sin was a sad boss for me. Still, I loved the game so much, the music, and the characters, almost everything. :)

Lol the Weapons in FFX were probably the only part of the game I was diappointed with...I don't remember which one it was whichever gives 99 pendulums if you bribe it, but I used on Aeon overdrive, figuring I'd weaken it enough to bribe...and that was all it took.

I didn't really level my Yuna's strength very much, but I brought her down Lulu's path and part of Rikku's, so Yuna could take out just about any enemy in the game with a cast of Holy...she was easily my most powerful character even though I barely touched her strength stats :) I have a friend who levelled his Rikku so much she was stronger than Auron...his Rikku was amazing :)

I like X as well, espescially when using the expert grid because its really fun, and its easy to make your characters stronger by having them take a detour. I had Yuna learn Steal and Use so its not jus Rikku who has use! I had Lulu take a few detours o increase her speed and strength, and Wakka is....well I think "beefcake" just about says it lol

Final Fantasy x was a very good game. I wish I taught my Yuna steal. It would have come in handy. I moved all over the place with my characters as well, lol. My Yuna has some pretty decent attack power now.

Lol, "beefcake,” I like that one. :P
