I have surgery scheduled in, oh, three hours to remove the bone spurs from my right foot.
Been a long time coming, really. And I'll be a damned sight glad to have it behind me. -
We're going to Hawaii!
That needs to be said much more often. The wife and I are finally getting to take our honeymoon, which is going to be seven glorious days on Kauai. We've both been looking forward to this for a few, well, months, but this was the time my parents were able to get using their time share, and besides, I needed roughly a week of accumulated vacation ( Read more... ) -
I finally broke down and did it.
I've wanted to do this since Apple did the smart thing and started building their system on top of a real operating environment, and since my workplace will "rent" my laptop from me while I'm working, I broke down and bought myself a MacBook. I is hitched!
The guests are (finally!) gone, the parties have been thrown, and the vows have been spoken. Kathryn and I are officially husband and wife -- well, from a grammar point of view, it should probably be wife and husband, but that sounds awkward ( Read more... ) -

So I'm getting married tomorrow. People are coming into town starting, well, two days ago. My hands are shaking, and I feel a little nervous (I have no idea why, either.) And yet, I can't stop smiling.
To those who are coming, I'm really looking forward to seeing all of you. -
More Hiking!
Today, Kathryn and I went hiking with a 20s and 30s group out to Cedar Falls, just east of Ramona. Cedar falls is the tallest waterfall in the San Diego area, coming in at a little over 100 feet, and it splashes down into a "punch bowl" which is deep enough to do cliff diving into when water is coming over the falls.
