What's a DIY?

When did you go and get so many icons???

I'm tempted to pick the top right dancing penguin for old time's sake, but I think I have to go with the one of the cow staring at the burger as my favorite. But the Homer one with Santa's Little Helper is a close second

I saw this t-shirt on Threadless.com that said "Meat is murder. Tasty, tasty murder." I thought of you, except the tshirt is a girlie pink.

And I joined an icon community just so I could get a couple of more icons. Which...turned into getting about 50 extra.

I'd never be able to use that many icons mostly becaues I never think to change mine. I always use the same icon every time.

Around here there was a bunch of stupid hippies that went around to stop signs all over the place and put a sticker that said "eating meat" under them. So the signs all read "STOP eating meat". Stupid hippies.

Oh yeah DIY = Do It Yourself.

And I like a bijillion icons, b/c it's something new and shiny for my attention span. Which, as an old friend pointed out to me once, is much like the span of a hummingbird on meth.

Hey, I like your S things.

Now your meme: LJ people, hmmm. maybe my sis hansolo, although she doesn't update that often. Book: You must immediately go out and get this book. I'm not done with it yet but it seems like a book you would LOVE. "Twilight" by Stephanie Meyer. Read it, hurry, hurry, because I want to talk to you about it. Movie: "Secondhand Lions" have you seen that? Band: John Mayer, his new "continuum"...have you heard it? do you like it?

I will go to the library tomorrow and see if I can track it down. Is it a newer or older book?

Saw "Secondhand" and of course I cried. I cry at everything.

I am such a sucker for vampire books. It dates back to my gamer days. Does the teenaged vampires mean it's a young adult book? I headeth to the library tomorrow...

Okay, I'm game:
Person to get to know: sean_and_heard, who doesn't post much (or at all), but reads and comments anyway. He's been a very good friend of mine for about five years now. Also, wulfbyu. Friend for same amount of time, great guy.
Book: "The Pig and I," by Rachel Toor
Movie: Garden State - I felt it redeemed Natalie Portman from her phone-ins for the new Star Wars movies.
Band/Artist: Acceptance is pretty good.

Added both. I've only got a Quebecois on my friends list previous to my adds. Do they even count as Canadian?

"Garden State" is one of my husband's favorites. Jury was somewhat out on Natalie until I saw the SNL short she did. A little foul, but really funny to see a nice Jewish girl gangsta rap.

What's "the Pig and I" about?

Quebec: Like any red blooded American I have a natural prejudice against them (they are French, after all), so I'm biting my tongue about them. However, both my Alberta friends feel the same way, so ( ... )

Hi there - as a result of this meme here on your page, which was stolen from you by elle_cosette and subsequently stolen by me... I was told that I should get to know YOU. Crazy world we live in.
I guess rockymento considers me and my wife kakesw family... cuz she didn't mention us as people to get to know, even though really I'm just the best Elvis-lookalike she's ever met... and I did have a small part in introducing her son (I served a mission with seeth_ransome to his wife xxsnitterxx who is one of Kakes' best friends! There's more connections and all but I won't go into all that - I think I've already said enough/too much by butting into this entry in the first place!!! You can blame elle_cosette though.

Just for fun though - here's MY answers to your meme:
LJ Person: My wife kakesw - she is amazing and at least 5 of your friends will vouch for that ( ... )

You're also my great-grandchild apparently in the combat cards thingie. Which leads to awkward questions, like how my husband and I don't have kids and yet I have kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids....

You need to listen to DevotchKa. They did songs on the "Everything Is Illuminated" and "Little Miss Sunshine" soundtracks. They be on MySpace and while my favorite song by them isn't on their profile anymore ("How It Ends"), they're still good. Sort of Eastern Europe x'd with Mexican guitar. Goodness.

And badgers? I don't need no stinkin' badgers!

How bout that 'eh? Are you psyched?

DevotchKa... hmm, it would seem they're from Denver. We might move there! I'm listening to "Enemy Guns" and it is quite interesting - in a good way. I think I may need to listen to it more - so maybe I'll add it to my iPod.

Wow! Well nice to finally meet you great-gramma! Ha ha. You've actually been a tough one to beat... but I've seen it done a time or two. I need to check and see how I'm doing in that.

Occasionally I daydream about tossing him from a high, high window. But then he gives me the big brown eyes and lo, he lives another day.

You need to hear "How It Ends," a song featured in both of the aforementioned soundtracks. Heartwrenching, in a good way. It's a mix song from me to whomever for the next eon.

I can't get past level five. It's b/c I refreshed a third time and now my honesty is in the pits. Crappity.
