Quebec: Like any red blooded American I have a natural prejudice against them (they are French, after all), so I'm biting my tongue about them. However, both my Alberta friends feel the same way, so...
"The Pig and I: How I Learned to Love Men (Almost) As Much As I Love My Pets." My husband actually hates this book, but I really related to it and the author. It's the memoirs of the author through her twenties, thirties and forties, who is admittedly a bit self-centered and picky and exacting, and her different pets and dating experiences. I loved it because she really analyzed her pets' personalities, she really got to know them and related to them in different ways depending on who they were. But then she had a difficult time with men and couldn't allow them to be who they were. She came to realize that in various ways her pets mirrored the men she was dating, yet she loved her pets unconditionally but couldn't stay in a functional relationship to save her life. So she decided maybe she should start treating people like she treats her pets. My husband doesn't like it because she critisizes her boyfriends and loves her pets more than men. *shrugs* Other than that, it's a good book.
