This was everything I anticipated it would be and more. Laura becoming an active without realizing it. The way doing what you believe is right can be so wrong. Judging others for their actions and believing you have every right to condemn them until you get your comeuppance. Mutineers rescuing the mutineers and Roslin. Actives defending the Agency and giving Helo advice only to turn on Adele. Everything becoming so morally and ethically convoluted that no one can be rightfully condemned. Really wonderful.

Thanks so much! This was a really fun crossover to write, and I'm so glad that you enjoyed it! The moral grays got really complicated and frankly, made my head hurt by the end of it. :) Thanks so much for reading and commenting!

"I always was good at blowing things up" Tom said with a grim smile. "This time, it might make a difference."Heh. Great line. Totally worthy of the show ( ... )

Thanks so much!

Tom makes sense as a martyr. Really, according to himself, that's what he did in canon- he died as a martyr. It's funny, because so often Laura said she wanted her life to have meaning, and really, Tom was the same way.

Adama made it- I think he just didn't change much :)

Thanks so much for reading and commenting- I'm flattered that this is the first long fic you've read in a long time! And what a compliment as well. Thanks!

Someday, I'm going to need a martyr, and on that day, I'll need you

*kablink* I didn't even THINK about Daybreak when she first said that!

Adama making Felix Admiral? I am a little teary. Okay, maybe more than a little.

I also love that Racetrack survived. :-) Though awww, Narcho. :-( (it's how he would have wanted to go.)

I LOVE the ending. You already know how much I adore Felix and Helo as BFFs, and I am just SO satisfied to see things okay between them again. EEEEEE.

As a whole, this story probably could have been a bit shorter--the earlier chapters could maybe have been condensed a bit-- but the payoff in the last few chapters were totally worth it. As always, you are Awesome!!

Tom was fun. He needed to die in a blaze of glory, or be President. President DEFINITELY did not fit in this fic, especially given how utterly unrepentant he was about shooting the Quorum. (The one time I made him Pres, he didn't get to shoot them.)

I agree with Bear- for all that I do like Hoshi, and I love the idea of Dee, those stars really should have gone to Felix. ::sniffle::

With Racetrack and Narcho, I did want to show that there were perks to this tech. There is no other verse I can make a case for this tech, and I still can't totally get behind what Adama and Roslin did to Felix, despite the fact his mutiny cost so many lives, but BSG is the one verse where I really could make a case for the Dollhouse tech being used with consent. Laura would never, EVER go in for the sexual aspects, and there ARE so many gaps in the skills pool.

As a whole, this story probably could have been a bit shorter--the earlier chapters could maybe have been condensed a bitThis seems to describe all of my writing ( ... )

So. I'm supposed to be shopping for Christmas presents, putting up decorations, re-immersing myself in the canon source for my Yuletide fic... and instead I've sat here for I'm not sure how long in order to read this whole thing. How do you keep doing this to me? (Also, OUCH. My tush.)

I was completely riveted by the whole idea, and you played with it so well. I haven't read the other comments yet, but I'm sure people have mentioned the hilarity of Kara and Hoshi. Only you could have imagined such an inspired interaction for those two! Hah!

I do feel bad for Sam, though. :( I'd like to know more about what happened to him.

Thanks s much! I had a lot of fun writing this one. Glad you enjoyed it! (I especially had fun writing Kara and Hoshi. They were a blast.)

I'd kind of like to figure out what happened to Sam, too. I have a vague idea- I know he recovered more, and that he made it to Earth instead of having to pilot the tech into the sun. It took too much of a branch to keep following him, unfortunately. Maybe I'll right an outtake at some point for him.

Huh, going back and reading the other comments, I actually was the only one who mentioned Kara and Louis.

Sam alive and (mostly) intact would be interesting to see, especially on Earth II. Though as a reluctantly rabid Kara/Sam shipper, I'm a wee bit heartbroken that he's not with Kara, so... (I'd totally read any outtakes, but I'd be resentful. Heh.)

Topher is creepy on the show, right? 'Cause he creeped me out in your fic. *shudders* Cute dialogue combined with amorality is just... yikes.

I think there were a couple of people who commented in the chapters- that might be where someone mentioned Kara and Louis.

I'm not sure what's going on inside Sam's head with Kara. The way I'm picturing it is that he can remember the really strongly resonating things that happened while he was "human", and naturally, Kara is one of those things. (He can remember his friendship with Jean, too.) I have a hard time not picturing Sam loving Kara, though. Even in fics where he doesn't end up with her, he still loves her. So that might still be there :)

And yes. Topher is REALLY creepy on the show, for that exact reason. It was rather brilliant on Joss's part, actually. He took all the idiosyncrasies that make people love his characters and put them into someone who was completely and utterly amoral. (Not evil malevolent. Just utterly lacking in morals.) He got a redemption arc, but he was still intended to be as creepy as I wrote him.
