So there are now little signs on the registers at my regular Starbucks that say: "Warning: this item may contain more than the RDA of sodium" and while I'm sure it's supposed to be for the food, my first thought was "oh, the baristas think they're salty."

AV Club had a couple good articles last week:

+ Goodfellas turned Wiseguy's simple prose into cinematic gold, which I think overlooks the plain charms of Pileggi's book, which is a good read despite not having the bravura fireworks of the movie. But the article definitely made me want to rewatch Goodfellas for the first time in a long time

It snowed again today, so good thing I had bacon! Snowstorms + bacon = best tradition I ever instituted. I made another pot of French onion soup yesterday, and it was just as good the second time around (I finished the last batch during the week).
