1. From Southern United States

2. I only drink coffee when I'm out. I never drink it at home. I drink mostly latte's and cappuccinos. Starbucks is my friend when I'm book hunting.

3. I love nachos! I only ever make them at home. I take a pound of cooked ground beef and mix it with 2 jars con queso from the store. Put it in a 350 oven for 20 mins. Good stuff.

4. Our menu varies. My husband likes more traditional food. I however am a Italian, Mexican person. I eat Italian and Mexican often. (explains tummy troubles ;)
I've tried some Indian food and I like some Japanese food. Chinese food though, I can do without.

5.I've always been curious about Haggis. I guess One of these days when I get to Scotland, I'll try it.

Ooh, thanks! So no coffee at home? Hmmmm.

Con queso is the chilli/cheese dip, yes?

When you say your boy likes the more traditional food, what are some of those meals?

I adore Mexican food, big time. *high fives*

Haggis? Oooh, excellent choice for an exotic dish! I had friends whose first visit to Scotland was for New Years, which is a huge deal up there, and they got to experience 'the piping in of the haggis', the lucky sods. I mean, how often does your dinner get announced by bagpipes? :)

Pretty sad huh? I have a small coffee pot here but never use it unless I have guests. I worry about becoming addicted. It would be oh so easy..

Actually it's the Salsa Con Queso, Cheese with salsa. Although, I like the chili cheese dip.

My guy is more of a Fried Chicken sort. Here in the south Fried Chicken is a staple with mashed potatoes and fresh veggies. He loves fried green tomatoes, chicken n dumplings, biscuits and gravy. All traditional Southern Staples.

*high fives right back* Love me some fajitas!

dinner with bagpipes? *sigh* Would love that!
We have a trip planned for next fall to go to Scotland. It's not set in stone yet but we're hoping to go.

Food questions! What fun!

1. If you don't mind saying, what country are you from?

The United States of America

2. Do you drink coffee? If you do, how do you 'have' it? Do you have drink it the same at home as you do when you're out?

Do I drink coffee? Ahahahaha! I drink so much coffee that I suspect I would mostly bleed caffeine.

As for how I take it, it depends on both the location and the kind of coffee. At home, I'll usually add a droplet of milk (no sugar). At the office, there's a crappier coffeemaker, so in addition to milk I'll add some sugar to make it palatable. If I'm at a nice restaurant or someplace with an industrial strength machine that can really brew it *properly*, I'll take it black. Fast-food restaurant coffee gets tons of cream and sugar. And then sometimes I'll treat myself to an espresso (nothing added) or latte (I don't add anything -- the milk already makes it plenty sweet).

3. Do you ever eat nachos? If yes, do you make it yourself at home, or do you only have it when you're out? If you have it ( ... )

My grandmother used to sneak it to me (behind my parents back) when I was a really little girl, so I learned to love it early! :-)

Hee! Oh, those grownups. I used to drink tea (strong with milk and two sugars) from sucker cup while sitting on my mother's knee as we drove to church on a Sunday morning. I shudder to think what would have happened if she'd liked coffee instead!

Okay, I'll play:

1. I hail from the USA.

2. I have coffee on occasion, mostly when I need the extra caffeine jolt. I always drink it as light and sweet as possible.

3. I do eat nachos, but only when I'm out-I never make the dish for myself.

4. When I eat at home I don't usually go through a lot of fuss, as it's just myself. So I truly never consider where the cuisine is from, but rather if it's something I can fix quickly, easily, and cheaply. ;)

5. Hm... I really have no idea. I'll have to ponder on this one.

Replying to myself to add that I never have coffee at home either-I usually pick some up on my way to work if I'm in need.

You know, I totally get that. If it was just me at home, I'd be having toasted cheese sandwiches for dinner most nights. But I'm the one with the 'talent' in the kitchen and the boy who must eat or die (stupid diabetes, lol) so I cook almost every night.

Yah for sweet coffee!

No...coffee? I've heard about people like you. *g* Seriously, my sister and two of my good friends don't even like the smell of coffee, let alone like drinking it.

It's tough trying out new things to cook when you have an audience, isn't it? Too bad you don't get a practice run, lol, because if it doesn't turn out right or they screw their noses up at it, *someone* has to find something else to be eaten for dinner.

Ohhh, jumping in just to say Seattle's Best is such good coffee. And I'm a coffee snob, and lived for seven years in Washington with a Seattle's Best and a Starbucks on every corner (before they were on every corner everywhere else). No one has ever heard of Seattle's Best! Do you have those there? I'm surprised. Learn something new every day, hmm?

Ok, I'm butting in because I really like Seattle's best! My parents went to Seattle last year and brought us a pound back and I really enjoyed it. I've also discovered that you can buy it at Safeway here.

Oh, I'm a coffee snob too!

I was excited when I found out I could buy it by the pound here, too. ;)
