i finished my shawl!  finished the knitting friday night, and blocked it saturday, despite the fact that it was pouring rain.  one of the many knitting books i seem to have suddenly acquired said you could wet the material just by spraying it, so that's what i did, rather than soaking it in water - if i had done that, i could perhaps gotten some of ( Read more... )

this thought is occasioned by angelina kitten losing her collar, which i find is making me ridiculously sad.    which is silly on many levels.

my brother is visiting for christmas, so i am sleeping on the fold-out couch.  which is about 3 feet from the catdoor.  which is kept firmly closed at night since i lost a cat to coyotes - a fact well known to the kittens ( Read more... )

today is my last day at work before i take off for the holidays - and as you can see, i am really nose-to-the-grindstone!

i am actually all prepared - presents wrapped and mailed, fruitcake baked, tree trimmed....now there's just the waiting.  and then almost 2 full weeks off work, which will be very nice.
