I just finished a full five days of being at school - I haven't done that since August, I think. With all the various conferences, fair and doctors appointments back in September and October, my kids kinda forgot that I really was the teacher. Our trip was fantastic...great motivational speakers, no behavior problems, no traveling problems. Hands down, the best trip I've ever taken with students. Today was a weird day full of emotions. I took 20 students to a leadership conference in town and had an oddly "out of body" experience ignoring everyone, listening to my MP3 player and grading papers. So last night I had a date with a guy from LA I've been talking to on the phone for a couple of weeks now. He drove up here, we went to dinner, went out for some coffee, toured my classroom, drove around Bakersfield talking, then came back to my place to talk more and watch a movie...and I had a great time!
