Sunday Update
So I got a wild idea today that I would start updating my journal every Sunday - let everyone know what's going on with me, etc. I'm not on LiveJournal near as much since I'm a daily MySpace addict, but I don't blog a lot over there...this is still my space to get everything out. Oh yeah, and my family members harrass me if I don't post over here! So here it goes...
...what have I been up to? Gosh - what haven't I been up to? Work's been busy with our annnual poinsettias fundraiser - we sold 498 plants last year and we're already up to 828 this year! WHOA! So with three trips to the headquarters to pick up plants in my trailer, and meeting kids at random hours to disburse their plants to them...it's been nuts. But I finally have all the plants I need (that I know of!) and it's just a matter of kids picking them up this week at school. Other than that at work? Only 3 more weeks of school until Winter Break. I'm not really feeling like I NEED Winter Break, but I sure am looking forward to having two weeks off! I'll be heading up to Reno for Christmas to see my mom, sisters, brother-in-law, new nephew, old nephew...should be quite the family gathering! I haven't seen any of them in a while, and we haven't all been together for Christmas in a long time...I'm looking forward to it, even if the thought of driving to Reno through the snow on Summit Pass aggravates me!
Outside of work, I've been sick...of course. I took last Tuesday off as a preemptive sick day because I was starting to feel it, and I was good to go by the end of that day. But, the persistent cough I've had turned into a full blown bad cold/flu this weekend. I'm feeling quite "ugh" today, but there are things to be done...not to mention a house to clean and decorate for Christmas! I don't know how much energy I have to do all that, and work on substitute lesson plans for tomorrow since I have an ag teacher's inservice in Visalia all day tomorrow, but I've been spending too much time being lazy and need to get stuff done around here.
Outside of work and being sick, I've been building some friendships with a couple of neat people. I won't go into too much detail here, but want to give a shout out to Will for being such a great friend and person to me...you rock, kiddo. I don't know what mood I would have ended up in this weekend without there to listen to my venting and cheer me up. Joanne - I'm so glad we've become closer over the last few monthhs and I hope we can spend more time together outside of work and instant messenger - wanna go shopping? And, of course, Vince, gracias for the dinner and my kickass new John Deere beanie! I will rock it in full force and appreciate the time we spend together :). I'm blessed to have some great people in my life...you ALL rock!
