One of my hives didn't make it through the winter. Both still had plenty of stores, and I left the dead-out all spring for the live one to rob out, but they didn't. I wanted to check out the bees, but it rained on and off all day, and to top it off, I got fired from my dance job. *le sigh*

I wanted to cut off the extra comb and put it in another frame today, but I think it is going to have to wait until I can borrow another pair of hands. Holding the frame, cutting off the extra and catching it requires at least one more hand than I have. Now I understand why people use frame rests. Got back from Indiana yesterday, but it was raining so I put off checking the hive until today. Cloudy, but not too windy, temperature about 68 degrees F. The bees looked good.
