The nights on Serenity are getting longer and longer, the closer they come to Kaylee and Simon leaving. Or maybe it's the more Mal mutters under his breath, the less he talks to either leaving party, that makes it so long

Teja is in a nearby armchair, softly playing his guitar. He knows not of any space-hos, and might disapprove if he did.

Inara sips at her tea, watching him play the guitar, a faint smile on her face.

Teja is playing, and then starts to sing, a rather strange song, which might be, in an odd sense, about Milliways -- accepting that it is real, and full of strange old warriors.

Like him.

Inara just listens, tapping her fingers along with the tune, against the china of her teacup.

Demeter frowns at her since she looks like she needs a hug so comes over with a plate of fresh made bread with homemade jam,

"You look like you need this, dear."

Inara smiles warmly at Demeter, taking the plate from her. "Thank you so much. It looks amazing."

"Fresh made just a little while ago, now tell me what's bothering you."

"Oh!" Inara looks surprised. "I...nothing really. Just. Family issues."

Tea is a wonderful thing, and George would agree on that. He headed to the couches by the fire to stretch out with his own cups and some books for reading.

"Oh sorry, was just going to sit over here if it's all right?" She was quite pretty, though he had a girlfriend now.

"Yes, absolutely." Inara nods, smiling.

"Thank you," George gave a small smile as he sat down with his books and tea.

"No problem." Inara smiles again, sipping at her tea. "What are you reading? If you don't mind me asking."
