Adama - no warnings millari December 26 2010, 16:37:45 UTC
Gaeta's eyes went agog as the pixels of the photo resolved themselves.

He never should have checked his personal email on duty.

“Commander in CIC!”

He swore under his breath and closed the window hastily. He barely kept a straight face as Adama paused at the DRADIS. He held his breath as utterly inconvenient images of a tanned young man on a beach with rippling pecs invaded his mind.

“What's up with you?” Dee demanded.

Gaeta stared wordlessly at the Commander's retreating back. He turned to Dee, eyes wide.

“Did you know the Old Man was a surfer once?”

I'm still having random images of young Adama on a beach in front of my inner eye, too... :p

Hee! He'd totally have that porn star mustache too! But including that took up too many words, and would have probably been a bridge too far anyway. ;)

Hot Dog, no warnings trovia December 26 2010, 17:36:21 UTC
The conversation took place on a lazy evening when a handful of pilots were relaxing in the rec room after duty.

Racetrack was the one to speak first, moodily playing with her glass of knuckledraggers' brew. “You know what I miss the most?” she said. “Chocolate cake. Huge towers of chocolate cake with yellow frosting on top.”

“Music,” Skulls said. “Rock bands and Aquarian drums.”

“Dawn on a Caprican beach,” Helo said, sighing.

“Springboard diving,” Hot Dog said.

Everybody turned to stare at him.

“What?” he said defensively. “It's a hobby.”

I'll have you know that there's nothing wrong with springboard diving. :p Wouldn't he look sexy, all wet and athletic?

Not unlike young Adama on the surfboard... ;)

What's wrong with springboard diving. Hot Dog's got the leanness for it, too. A little tall, maybe, but he's certainly got the right build.

Lee, no warnings acsgrlie December 26 2010, 20:09:16 UTC
This is my first BSG fic. Ever. Be kind :)

The moment Lee made contact he knew it was a mistake.

“You cut across too fast. You gotta take your time and go easy.”

“I know, dad. Today’s just not my day.”

Lee took out a 7-iron and made his way into the artificial woods under the blaze of the artificial sun on Cloud 9.

‘You gotta admit being out here does feel good,’ thought Bill as he waited for Lee to make his shot.

“Frak!” yelled Lee as he heard the ball crack the nearest tree.

“Why do you play this game anyway Lee?”

“It relaxes me.”

Hee! That plan isn't working out so well, huh?

And yay for first BSG fic! You should stick around. :)

Hee! The last line is awesome. Aw, Lee, always learning Daddy's hobbies!

Yay, our first non-mod entry! This was loads of fun. I can't decide if Lee would actually ever get good at this or not. Probably, what with his excellent shooting skills. :)

Thanks for participating!

I wonder if Sharon is capable of subtle critique. :D Still, that line cracked me up.

This is really sweet though. And sure, we'll count it as a hobby! We're easy.

Oh, this was so nice! It totally didn't go where I was expecting at first! I was expecting the laundry to be the hobby after all, but it was so quiet and real, when you think about how badly Sharon wants to be accepted.

Helo worrying about his cleaning abilities made me giggle. You totally caught his earnestness with that one line.

A really nice addition to a challenge that could so easily end up being a collection of for-the-LULZ fics.

Wow, that's a really good one. Sad, too. Poor Boomer.

Aw, poor Boomer. I liked the touch of how Mathias had rewritten history in her mind about Boomer's role. It makes Boomer especially erased. So sad.

But paintball! That was the one moment in this fic that made me smile. Them and the bridge bunnies would be awfully cute running around with paint guns.

And here's the moment when I realize that ironically, Boomer has been erased in my journal too. I have no icons of her. How did that happen?
