The conversation took place on a lazy evening when a handful of pilots were relaxing in the rec room after duty.

Racetrack was the one to speak first, moodily playing with her glass of knuckledraggers' brew. “You know what I miss the most?” she said. “Chocolate cake. Huge towers of chocolate cake with yellow frosting on top.”

“Music,” Skulls said. “Rock bands and Aquarian drums.”

“Dawn on a Caprican beach,” Helo said, sighing.

“Springboard diving,” Hot Dog said.

Everybody turned to stare at him.

“What?” he said defensively. “It's a hobby.”

I'll have you know that there's nothing wrong with springboard diving. :p Wouldn't he look sexy, all wet and athletic?

Not unlike young Adama on the surfboard... ;)

What's wrong with springboard diving. Hot Dog's got the leanness for it, too. A little tall, maybe, but he's certainly got the right build.

Yeah, and it's just a hobby, so he's allowed to be a little tall. ;)

Of course Hot Dog has hidden depths! I'm greatly amused by the fact that you can make a joke in a fic simply by giving him any kind of background. ;)
