The Park - Friday Afternoon

Veronica had wanted to unpack and get the house clean before she had to start work and it was impossible to get that done with Lilly in the house. Lilly had wanted to "help" her mommy unpack but was more trouble than it was worth. So Veronica told Dick to make himself useful and take their daughter to the park. Not that he had a problem with taking

Nearby, though keeping her distance, Sora sat under a tree, smiling as she watched the father and daughter spend time together. She looked down at her sketch, which just happened to be of the two of them; the man was easy to get down pat. The swinging daughter, however, was proving to be a challenge. She picked up her eraser, fixing the swing set.

Dick didn't even notice anyone was there, much less notice someone was drawing him. Of course this wasn't surprising. Lilly was doing her best to convince her father to push her higher.

"I wanna jump, Daddy!" Lilly insisted. "You can catch me!"

Finally getting a good look at the daughter's face, Sora began to sketch it out. However, her cold still had some lingering effects. Moments later, she sneezed. Loudly. For such a quiet girl, she sure made up for it...

Dean, unfortunately and frustratingly still mohawked, was stalking pouting walking through town. He paused to watch for Dick and Lilly for a few moments.

He'd deny it forever, but watching the two of them definitely cheered him up.

"Hey, dude," Dick said when he spotted Dean.

"Heya, Dick." Dean nodded and flashed a smile at Lilly. "Lilly. Howzit goin'?"

"Hi, Dean! Daddy won't push me high enough!"

Lilly was quite affronted by this.

Sam was on his way out to buy milk and bread and a few of those necessary food basics when he heard a little girl's voice from the park.

He paused, some fifty feet away, and just watched for a little while. He didn't think he'd ever get over the fact that Casablancas was a father, much less the father of Veronica's kid, but from this distance, at least, Lilly couldn't stomp on his food and they were really kind of adorable together.

Not that Sam would ever use that word out loud to describe the scene.

And because she was Veronica's kid, she noticed him lurking.

"DADDY! THERE'S THE MEAN MAN!" she shouted, pointing in Sam's direction.

Dick burst out laughing when he saw who Lilly was pointing at. "He's not mean, Lilly. He just drives your mom crazy."

"He is SO mean! He said he is Uncle Cole's boyfriend!"

Lilly so wasn't letting that one go.

Jack was making a quick swing through the park, just to be sure there were no lingering faries traces of yesterday's strange weather.

He paused, chuckling when he heard Lilly's young voice and saw her playing with her father.

Dick waved at Jack when he spotted him.

"HI JACK!"

Lilly was raised by Veronica Mars. She didn't miss anything.

Jack smiled and waved to the pair of them, his smile turning into a laugh when he heard Lilly.

"Hello, Lilly! Hello, Lilly's father," he called over, since he hadn't gotten a formal introduction to Dick yet.

"Ahh, this is more like it." Connor sighed contentedly. Much warmer than yesterday and no snow. Normally he liked snow but he wasn't in the mood for it lately. The clouds were kinda nice though.

He smiled when he saw Dick and Lily, false memories of both him and his father, and him and his baby sister on playgrounds coming to mind.

Dick smiled and waved at the guy he didn't know when he spotted him.

Connor waved back. "How're you doing? New in town?"

"Yeah, just moved in yesterday," he said. "I'm Dick Casablancas and the tiny blonde one is my daughter, Lilly."
