Lilly had wanted to "help" her mommy unpack but was more trouble than it was worth. So Veronica told Dick to make himself useful and take their daughter to the park. Dean, unfortunately and frustratingly still mohawked, was stalking pouting walking through town. He paused to watch for Dick and Lilly for a few moments.

He'd deny it forever, but watching the two of them definitely cheered him up.

"Hey, dude," Dick said when he spotted Dean.

"Heya, Dick." Dean nodded and flashed a smile at Lilly. "Lilly. Howzit goin'?"

"Hi, Dean! Daddy won't push me high enough!"

Lilly was quite affronted by this.

"It's for your own good," Dick said with a smirk. "And if you come back home all beat up your mom is going to kill me."

Dean grinned again, leaned on the back of a nearby bench. "She wouldn't have to get beat up. Aim her at the sandbox."

"That's what I said!" Lilly exclaimed, tugging on Dick's hand. "Pleeeeeeeeeeease, Daddy?"

Dick sighed and gave Dean a look. "You want to get me in trouble, don't you?"

"Hey, jumping off swings is a vital playground skill."

"Daddy?" Lilly asked, the picture of innocence. "Can I go play with Dean please?"

"If he wants to then it's fine by me," Dick said. "But don't push him to play with you if he's busy."

He knew how bossy Lilly could get. Wonder which parent she got that from...

Dean grinned. "Hey, I got nothin' but time right now." He vaulted over the bench easily, kilt flapping slightly in the breeze. "But I warn you, Lilly, I suck at girly games,"

Lilly grinned and grabbed his hand, tugging him back to the swings. "Will you push me really high so I can jump into the sandbox?" she asked.

"Smooth, Lilly," Dick said, rolling his eyes.

"Mommy can't get mad now," Lilly said. "You have... applauseable 'niability."

Dick groaned inwardly. He knew no good could come from growing up in a P.I. office. "Yeah, that's great. I'm sure I won't get into any trouble once we tell mommy that."
