Jumping from flashes of the screams of the damned to complete darkness and stale air wasn't exactly the easiest way to come to.
Dean had never really done things the easy way.

It had been a long night. Dean had moved only enough to pull up a rickety chair next to the couch. Sam, of course, hadn't moved at all.

An abandoned house near the edge of town, Friday night
After dropping Meg off at the clinic, Dean drove to the most remote abandoned house he could find without leaving town. He dragged Sam inside, letting him drop onto a moldy couch -- then winced and carefully arranged his brother's cold limbs so he looked like he'd just gone to sleep.

Messages had completely handwavily gone out the day before: Dean's birthday bash, New Orleans. Everyone invited, gifts totally unnecessary.

Dean had himself a beer, his feet propped up on his battered, cluttered coffee table as he settled back on his couch to watch the games.
The Eagles vs the Cardinals was pretty cool, but he was really looking forward to the Ravens/Steelers game, later.

Dean was chilling out on his couch with a cold beer and a badly dubbed copy of Godzilla v. Mothra.
All he needed was some snacks, and he'd be having a lovely evening.

"Azzie's old place", Tuesday mid-afternoon: BABY SHOWER!
The girls had outdone themselves with the black and pink decorations. Dean could only stare at them in muted horror and awe for a few moments before pulling himself together.
