There's nothing quite like realising David Bowie's death still affects you by watching the the opening scenes of the Lazarus video for the first time in over a year and bursting into tears. -

How do people who live in humid climates survive a heatwave? I am so used to an arid environment that heatwaves don't bother me. However we are having successive +38C days (and +27C nights) with high humidity and I. AM. NOT. COPING. Almost one year ago I ended up in hospital for about a week with severe burns to my right hand after accidentally splashing hot oil from a wok across it. I am more than a little shattered by the death of David Bowie. He has been the biggest musical influence in my life, for my entire life. I don’t remember what was the first Bowie song I ever heard as I grew up with his music - my parents had all the albums either on vinyl or 8-track.
