So, today I learned that next year's season of Supernatural, Season 15, will be it's last. I have been watching this show since it first aired; certainly not the longest running show I've watched, but the longest single series1 canon2 American show I've been invested in. I've been very lucky not to be near the extremely toxic sections of the SPN fandom, keeping my fandom experience very positive overall. Sure there have been story arcs that I've not been so thrilled with (fandom did them better, that's for sure), however I've always been entertained. I will miss the show when it's done, and I really hope the show does get the ending it deserves: Team Free Will having a day on the beach, enjoying the sunshine and drinking cocktails. My one big wish that I've had since season 4, for Destiel to move from subtext to text, is very unlikely to happen, and I'm actually okay with that.
1. I'm not including Star Trek as each series has little bits added or entirely changed from the original canon. You can't have first contact in one series, then make another series set in an earlier period in the same universe and surprise! the crew knows everything about that race/culture/collective/whatever. >:( Yes, this is my hill etc...
2. I admit some of SPN's canon has changed over the seasons, so it's not a perfect show bible they work from. I wish everyone on the show would remember when seeing an angel's grace it would burn your eyes out.
