Twas a very busy weekend. Colin was baptized with all the family looking on (more on that some other time). I did not want to go to work today. Power is still out. We had dinner at my mom's last night. The little man is still sick. He was miserable at the sitter's yesterday and at my mom's last night. He came home, ate and went to bed. So school started. At the moment, I have a few minutes. So far my students seem ok. I still have some of the same looney toons though. So I visited the APO National Convention website because I was curious about cost. At this point, it does not appear that we will be attending unless something changes drastically in our finances. The Convention is cost prohibitive at this point. The hotel rate is $104 plus tax per night. And yes I realize that it's Boston at a Sheraton. Most ( Read more... )

So we picked up our new car today. We bought a 2002 Subaru Outback from Van Bortel Subaru in Victor, NY. It only had 41,000 miles on it and was well maintained. We bought it for $500 more than the NADA trade-in value. We are the third owners and we checked the carfax on it. It was such a nice car buying experience. It was a no pressure sale ( Read more... )

We visited another dealership today. Not sure yet if we've found something we can live with or not. We aren't shopping tomorrow (unless we go tomorrow night) because my car is in the shop to have its electrical issues addressed and cmuckle's is really not fit to drive long distances any longer. cmuckle and I are now in the market for a new-to-us car. We knew that we were going to need another car because quite frankly neither of ours is big enough to transport all 3 of us, especially with the traveling we do across the state. So Colin is 5 weeks and 1 day old today. Last week we took him for his 1 month appointment. He now weighs 9 lbs exactly and is 21 inches long. That means he's added 2 lbs. 11 oz. to his weight and 1 inch to his height. I was looking at him on our bed today and you can definitely see that he has grown.
