I kind of gave up on looking up YouTubed episodes of Never Mind the Buzzcocks after Simon quit hosting. This episode of NMTB is post-Simon but still quite good. Because it's David Tennant guest-hosting, and the theme is (duh) Doctor Who.

Spent the weekend in hiding mostly. I think the previous Monday through Friday, 07:00 to 19:00 bumping of shoulders with other human beings just wore me too thin to be companionable to anyone else by the time Saturday came. There are shows that I begin to watch, get frustrated about (due to time-slot shifts, plot stagnation, or waiting in general), and then sacrifice to the gods of other-things-to-watch. Grey's Anatomy is one of those; I gave it up after the second season had passed, and I've never picked it up again.

There's always a continuity issue with camera angles and perspective in conversations between humans and centaurs. Far shots tend to show the head where you'd expect it if a human torso were attached to a horse's body: quite a bit taller than a human. But in close shots the characters are looking almost directly at one another, which just doesn't ( Read more... )

This Jacob/Esau business reminds me of a moment in Memnoch the Devil when Lestat decides that God and the Devil are both insane and he wants nothing to do with either of them. I guess I'm just waiting for somebody in Lost to take the same stance with Jacob and Esau (smoke monster, Man in Black, whatever). Maybe it'll be Ben. Maybe it'll be Jack.
