[Do you know how many American traditions for Christmas time were originally German? Like Christmas Trees and Tinsel and certain Christmas carols. Mistletoe is Scandinavian though, I'm not claiming that. Anyway. Enough about traditions.

So Germany, having been posting by some Holly is singing Stille Nacht (Silent Night in the original German, ( Read more... )

Germany! Germany! [He runs up, making jingling noises as the result of a run-in with some bells.] Your singing is so good~!

Ah. Thank you, Italy.

[Jingle Jingle.]

...Are you carrying bells?

Nope! It's magic! I went by the jingle bells and now I sound like one! I'm not carrying any! I even checked my pockets.

As long as it's not too much of an inconvenience.

Where are you heading?

[Little known fact: angels are ga-ga for Christmas. Not, as it might be suspected, because of Judo-Christean loyalties, nor even for the conspicuous number of representative plastic angels that plaster everything from toothbrushes to tinsel. Angels, particularly this angel, simply adore the goodwill-towards-men-love-thy-brother message (and occasionally even behavior) that suffuses the season like fruitcake.

As a result, when Aziraphale heard a lovely tenor begin to croon strains of a familiar song, he did not hesitate a moment before toggling his own journal to speakerphone, and joining in. Though his voice was quite appropriately divine (alto), Aziraphale still managed to sing in German with a British accent.

Don't ask me how it's done, I've heard it. Weirdest accent-thing I've ever heard.]

[Man that's awesome. Three billion points to Aziraphale. (And randomly, the fact I play a Crowley is so not helping that seem amazing.)

But I imagine their voices matched splendidly. Go us.]

That was...

You sing very well.

[Aziraphale's voice was....well....merry (Yeah, I went there) as he replied to his duet partner.]

Es ist gut zu träl....er...that is, it's quite nice to sing with you as well. The original version is not one often heard, but it is lovely. We should get a spot of caroling in, at some point.

[ oh England don't you remember singing at each other in the Christmas Truce of 1914 okay maybe not. Hetalia canon is you kicking a football (the real kind) at me. /sob. ]

Thank you, I suppose?

Of course. Not that I'm implying I thought you were a bad singer, just-- a bit unexpected.

I thought you'd have a much harsher, scratchier voice.

[ ooh I read about that a while back. idk I read some crazy conspiracies on how it was made by Hollywood, or was that the WWII truce? /fail ]

Music has been pretty prevalent in my culture. Bach, Beethoven, and Brahms, you know?

[ lol, no, it's legit. There is a movie that took a few liberties but it's a good movie. Joyeux Noël. It's in three languages. *u* ]

Thank you. It helps when you've had so many years to practice.
