Byington Liage Sauvignon Blanc, Monterrey County, CA, 2008

Yes!!

This is lovely. Mellow nose, not as grassy as Marlborough, NZ, which is fine with me. Very nice mouth feel, too.

Sadly, it is all gone from my glass.

Loki brought breakfast into my bedroom, yesterday morning, serving me scrambled eggs, blueberry yogurt and perfect coffee.

I messed around the house for a while, fretting over packing for an over-night in Winston-Salem. Once here, I continued the festivities with a massage from Nikki at 6th Sense Health and Wellness Center followed by a nap. ( Read more... )

White Burgundy, Vielles Vignes, Alain & Christiane Patriarche, Meursault, Cote-d'Or, France, 2006 "Grand Vin de Bourgogne"

Nose like our favorite chardonnays. Nice mouth feel. Finishes more like a Sauv blanc. Very, very nice.

As much as I love 7 Deadly zins, others of that grape are just not pushing my buttons.

Murphy-Goods, Liar's Dice, 2007, Sonoma. Very nice nose. Very bland on the palate.

Bogle, Old vine, 2007, Clarksburg. Smells like old shoes. Slightly spicy.

I'm afraid that if I'd tried to blend them, I"d have gotten the worst of both.
