I read the wine column in the paper a couple of weeks ago, and he recommended a Chilean wine from the vinyard "Cono Sur" (awful name) - their Reisling. I thought I'd try it for fun. He said it went well with fish and chips so I wasn't expecting anything very exciting, but we were delightfully surprised. It is extremely versatile - I think it would go with everything, and be nice just as a refresher mid-afternoon on a Sunday. Delicious. I'm not much of a wine person - really miss the Algerian plonk we used to drink in Holland, and the inexpensive but good Moselle wines available in every corner store. Plonk, up here, is really plonk unfortunately.

I am a little afraid of a trip to Italy. I fear learning to love some wine that is only available there.

I think I've had Cono Sur and that it was good but not amazing.
