Two Mondays ago I did indeed go into the hospital (I barely made it from the doc's office - I had as much packing in my nose as possible to stop the bleeding and it didn't hold), and had two emergency surgeries and two embolysms to stop the bleeding before being discharged. As you know, I had surgery Tuesday to correct a deviated septum, generally open my sinus cavities and clear out a nasty infection in one of my sinuses that has been there for months, if not a year. Wednesday when I went in to get the packing removed, I started to bleed so heavily that they repacked my nose and told me to come back in today. Today ( Read more... )

In January of 2008, as soon as we got home from Christmas, every member of the family came down with a bad sinus infection. Jared, who never gets sick, was home for a week. When he went back to work I was still feeling miserable, and it took at least two weeks for me to start feeling somewhat normal again. But I never regained my regular energy ( Read more... )

Luckily pretty much all of my friends without kids are very understanding. So I am blessed. Still, I've been tired and frustrated and I thought this was appropriate since I've been way behind lately. On everything. Including calls and email. And life. More on this later.

Gregory is now 14 months old. He really doesn't say many words, though he babbles about incessantly. "Gregory-speak" we call it. He does say "mama", "dada", and calls his big brother "buh buh", sometimes "duh". Usually in the mornings Dominic wakes up and comes into my room and crawls into bed and we snuggle a bit before I finally get up. This morning he comes in, crawls into bed, and after I turn over and give him a hug he says: "I love you Mommy. You are my best girl in the whole world. You are so beautiful." Yep.
