I've been waiting to tell you about this for a while now. A couple weeks ago, in celebration of our 3rd anniversary, Jamie and I went to Dia Beacon. Its an art museum in Beacon, NY (upsate 1 hour on the metro north). I need to make a separate post about that. But, from the train, which skirts along the hudson the whole way, we saw this!:

I just found out they named a rose after me! It's called, "The Rose with Gaping Hole and Few Petals"! Eeeeeeee! :)

So....I answered an ad on craigslist,looking for catalog models...outdoorsy types. So, I thought, why not. I might be a little roly poly, but, I figured, maybe I could pull off the LL Bean look. So I trecked out to Woodside, Queens. The guy was a liitttllle weird, but...

One of the great things about having a bike is seeing new things, close to home, that you never would have guees were there. On friday night, I rode up to williamsburg, through bed-Stuy. Bed-Stuy, in case you don't know, is known for having beautiful architecture, and I'm always surprised ( Read more... )

Talk about feeling conflicted. In my heart of hearts, I will always hate Walmart (duh). I hate them for squelching small businesses, I hate them for their censorship tactics, I hate them for how they've helped change us from producers to consumers, I hate their employment practices, et al.

How terrible:

In Boston autopsy results were pending on a pregnant woman who died Saturday after collapsing at a sweltering Red Sox game and suffering an apparent heart attack. A medical team was able to deliver her 4-pound infant at a hospital. (Watch the husband describe how his wife became clammy and died -- 1:41)

I found this out about my boss the other day, and I think its so weird I can't stop thinking about it:

She doesn't know how to drive, but her and her husband own a car where they live in New Jersey! Apparently, her man's "too scared to teach her"

I had a wonderful, and unseasonably ghostly night last night.

So the grand plan was to go see Philip Glass and the Kronos Quartet at Prospect Park last night, and meet up with jordan and Peony there. Old b&w Dracula was playing, and they were doing the soundtrack.
