I had a wonderful, and unseasonably ghostly night last night.
So the grand plan was to go see Philip Glass and the Kronos Quartet at Prospect Park last night, and meet up with jordan and Peony there. Old b&w Dracula was playing, and they were doing the soundtrack.
My #1 though, left his cell phone at home and left as soon as we arrived to get it. I sat down on the lawn and enjoyed the music. It was fun, humorously eerie. After about 20-30 minutes, an incredible lighting storm rolled in. The crowd gasped and started scurrying.
The lighting was on all sides of us, striking so closely. I waited as long as I could, and then started walking home, hoping to meet Jamie.
The rain was pouring down, and loud thunder and lighting everywhere. It felt so good to walk home through the park (safely surrounded by other park goers) and get soaked. I never get to expereince storms and nature at the same time in New York, so it felt refreshing. One of the best storm experiences I ever had. I don't trust people who think a summer thunderstorm like that ruins a night...I scowled at some of the screaming ladies.
Then I saw a really cute, wet man riding towards me on a beautiful bike...and it was Jamie riding on my new ten speed!
We then went to Sepia for a drink, the bar that is less than a block away from our apt but that we'd never been too in over 2 years. It was waaayyy cuter than I expected, with little cushioned window seats, and $4 beers. A cute little back patio was too wet to enjoy, but promising. The bar was pretty crowded too with fellow gentrifiers.
Then we went home and had a chinese food picnic in our living room, and watched the latest project runway on the computer. TGIF
