On Sunday Jamie and I went to the Far Rockaways. The Rockaway are great because you:
A) Get to go to the Beach
B) Get to visit the set of Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdrome (at least in spirit).
As usual, we took the A-Train there, then the shuttle. Just before the Broad Channel shuttle stop, I got to see one of the strangest, most unexpected places in all of New York, that I've seen. Sorry these pics are big, but they're worth it!! Check it out:
Oh my god, that row of house is on really tall stilts! It looks like there used to be more, and they just got.. WASHED AWAY. Most of them are abandoned, but two have clearly been done over very recently! Then Oh My God look, there are TWO SHIPWRECKS!
