( very minor spoilers for episodes 5-7 )

I might be overly critical since I wasn't too happy with the first episode and I've seen three adaptations of story, two of those being my overall favorite wuxia series. Still, there are some things about this series that just keeps bothering me.

1. There are cruise boats going between Stockholm and Helsinki almost every day. People who go on them get to spend one night on the boat and a few hours in Stockholm or Helsinki the next day before going back to the boat and spending a night there before returning to Stockholm or Helsinki. Back in high school, my Swedish teacher gave us an assignment where we had to read 20 works (either poetry or fiction) through the semester and write down our thoughts. She didn't tell us to write full reviews, just 3-5 lines about our thoughts which made it a pretty easy assignment. So I decided I'm going to do the same thing with the books I read ( Read more... )

I just came back from seeing "Lars and the real girl" starring Ryan Gosling. I know the movie came out in like 2007 but it's only recently that it started showing in movie theaters around here (don't ask me why). I just saw Revolutionary Road with Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet. Not going to comment much on the movie itself except that I thought that it was very good and the actors' performances were amazing. But seeing this movie in the movie theater felt kind of weird.
