I love to decorate for the Christmas holidays. I start decorating the weekend after Thanksgiving and take them down on January 6th.

Viggo in Eastern Promises
I'm watching Eastern Promises for the third time. It's way too violent for my taste. Viggo is fantastic in this movie and deserved the Oscar for Best Actor. I guess he's just not enough of a Hollywood insider to win. The man will do anything for his art, and he does look beautiful in all his nakedness.

Goodbye 2008!
2008 was not a kind year for me. I'm thrilled to see it end. Thanks to all my LJ friends for your support during my down times. Tonight, my husband and I had a small dinner party with 9 people. A temporary good-bye
The business portion of my brother's funeral is over. At the graveside, we sang the refrain "And He will raise you up on eagle's wings, Bear you on the breath of dawn, Make you to shine like the sun, And hold you in the palm of His Hand. ... My brother John
I post this message with a heavy heart. The unbelievable has happened. My 53 year old brother John died suddenly tonight. I was with him earlier and he was laughing and talking. About 9:00pm he started having a hard time catching his breath. His wife called an ambulance and he went to the emergency room. About five minutes after he got to the ( Read more... ) -
My little doggy is gone
My little dog Lola had a stroke yesterday. She couldn't walk or eat. Lola was awake all night and she was so confused. Today, I took her to the vet. They couldn't do anything for her and I had to put her down. I held her until the end. She's been my baby for 8 years. I didn't want her to suffer and had to let her go. I must be crazy
Well, I'll be out of touch for the next few days. In the morning, I'm North Carolina bound. It's about a 3 hour flight from here. The time has arrived for me to put my mother-in-law in the nursing home. Her children refuse to help because she's very difficult on her best day, and this is not her best day. Struggling
Are the holidays over yet? My mother spent a day in the hospital. She's home now but not well. At nearly 87 she's just wearing out.
Next week I'm flying half way across the country to see my mother-in-law and move her to assisted living. Although I feel for her having to make such a major change, she's making things very difficult. The poor ( Read more... )
