It's been so cold here lately, that the central heating doesn't do much good anymore. We used an electrical heater in addition and the cats were thrilled!

With all the agitation and disappointment with the Rammstein concert tickets I have forgotten to celebrate on Saturday Meli's birthday. She's 2!!!

So, trying to make amends for my forgetfulness, here's a mini-spam with Meli the kitty. I call the set "EXPOSED".

Meli, my cat, DOES talk to the birds. She's definitely trying to chirp like the birds - I assume she's trying to lure the birds into her reach. After numerous attempts, I caught her on camera.

I had a nice Easter. My sister came over and we went (over)shopping together. I made cake (layered cake, like in the Shreck/Donkey dialog) and colored the eggs. The cats felt spoiled with the extra attention. Even my achy wrist acted nice(er) - the wrist brace really helped - thanks for the advice, Hannie! It all played off too fast though. Exactly one year ago, Meli came into our lives. It's kinda her anniversary. She didn't get a cake, she didn't get chocolate (even if she loooves chocolate), she wasn't even allowed to chew on her favorite pot plants. So the least I can do is make a special post for her.

I've just been through a totally traumatic experience that left me still shaking. You, cat people out there will understand me. (Who doesn't have pets is allowed - and justified - to think I am crazy.) I had the vet over to give my cats their shots. They both knew something bad was to happen and they both hid. You never get bored when you have 2 cats. Apart from the moments when I have to physically intervene when Meli chases Lisa around the house, it's fun to watch them interact. No doubt, Meli is the naughty one. And she seemed so nice and obedient for the first three days! It was all an act, I tell you!

It's not as good as The Engineer's guide to cats, but it's a start.

It's been such a hot day! Everybody is suffering. Especially poor me, because I had to take a cold shower. No hot water for 2 weeks. I think I'm getting used to this. Next thing, I'll try ice swimming!

But I am not the only one who hates the heat...
