Like many of you, I have a netflix account, which means I'm not just limited to the mainstream movies Blockbuster specializes in, I get to see some more obscure films. Lost
I'm just going to take a moment here to gush about Lost. I really, really love that show. I think it might be the best thing I've ever seen on television. (Runner-ups are the Sopranos and Big Love) Sure, it's had it's less-than-stellar moments, but I think it is back on track this season and we are, again, seeing some great episodes.

I am reading another Bill Bryson book, this one called "Made in America: An Informal History of the English Language in the United States." So far, it is very interesting (as his books usually are.)

Finished a painting!
I have been working on this painting of Tuscany for months, and I finally finished it! Not that it took so long to paint, just that I have only been working on it very sporadically. I had everything done except the flowers in the foreground before Thanksgiving, and I just got around to finishing it today. So here it is:

Really, having a new dog is almost, a bit, like having a new baby. My husband and I even discuss how often he poops. New Years Resolution
I have resolved to get back in touch with my friends from LJ, and to start posting again. Maybe I wont be online all that often, but enough to at least check in. I miss you guys!
At some point, I'll have to post a quick year in review to catch up, but now I have to go read "The Wizard of Oz" to my kids. -
Yes, I'm still alive!
Since Loralienasa has nudged me, I guess I ought to post and let you all know what is happening. Here is my life in brief:
1. I leave tomorrow for Kentucky to go to my neice's wedding. We will stay there for 4 days, lots of visiting with extended family members, lots of fun anticipated.

Good news/ bad news
I wanted to write and tell you all that I have won a major art award. I entered my Penn Band painting in the annual contest sponsored by The Artist's Magazine (a national publication - I'm not sure how available it is outside the U.S.) and won first place in the student division, still life category.
