Taking treebs advice, I decided to go for a bike ride on saturday, enjoying the beautiful weather.
I am very fortunate to be living in an area of the country that is just littered with old estates which have been converted to various, more public uses. There is one nearby which has become a sort of center for cultural arts, and that is where I went for my bike ride. To my surprise I found they had an exhibit of local artists work, so I got to see an art show, quite by chance!
Sadly, much of the art was too modern for me. That is to say, much of it looked as if it might have been painted by a two year old (having recently observed a two year old painting, I know whereof I speak), or else by a hormonal teenage boy. Not my cup of tea. BUT, there was also some really lovely work, in particular, some very beautiful wooden sculptures. Check out this site:
http://www.horseandeaglegallery.com/thumbs_main.html for some pictures. It includes both some of the sculptures that I liked, and also some of the paintings I didn't like. And some in between. :)
Anyway, it was still a fun trip. The house itself was just beautiful, it made me want to do more to my house. Like paint more murals on the walls or something.
But, I have some knitting to do with my friend (who also has a beautiful house), so I'm off.
